Students spend approximately 20–40 minutes per subject at the Centre.
To maintain a good staff-student ratio, please ensure that your child comes at their scheduled class time.
If you need to change your child's class time, kindly give us at least one week's notice. We will let you know what other time slots we have available.
Food and drinks are not allowed in the classroom with the exception of bottled water.
The classroom is a self-study area. Please respect other students and maintain a quiet study environment. Cell phones are prohibited inside the classroom.
If students are having trouble completing the assignments, we encourage them to read over the instructions, follow the examples, and attempt to answer the questions independently. If they require assistance, the Instructor and Centre Assistants are available.
After finishing their work, we kindly ask that students quietly wait for their parents in the waiting area.
Parent-instructor-student communication is critical to the success of the student's learning. This communication includes periodic progress reports; parent communication notes; phone, email, or pre-arranged consultations with the instructor.
During class we keep our focus on the students. We are available for phone calls during non-class hours. We endeavor to respond to any emails or voicemail within one business day.
If you know in advance that your child will not be able to attend classes because of vacation or seasonal breaks, please let us know two weeks in advance. Their work will be ready for pick-up at the next class.
For other unplanned absences due to illness or family circumstances, we kindly ask you to notify us at your earliest convenience. We will be happy to make arrangements for homework pick-up.
Kumon study is a long-term program rather than a "quick-fix" solution. There is no question that year-round study brings continuous progress. Just like training for a race, or practicing an instrument, building a solid educational foundation takes time. By continuing their Kumon study throughout the year, students will gain confidence and anticipate success.
We encourage students to take assigned homework with them during holidays and seasonal breaks. They are also encouraged to join us virtually when unable to attend in person.
In the case of lost or damaged Kumon library books, students will be charged a fee of $30 or with the task of replacing the book.
The Centre will be closed during statutory holidays and seasonal holidays. Any closure will be announced ahead of time.
As we encourage year-round study, students will always be provided with homework for any days we are closed.
A VOID cheque, along with the signed pre-authorized debit form is requested to set up pre-authorized debit (PAD). The tuition fees will be taken on the 20th of the previous month. $30 will be charged for each NSF. If your banking information changes, please let us know as soon as possible.
Parents of students under age 6 are required to stay in the Waiting Area for the entire class.
Your Centre Policy and PAD authorization have been securely submitted. A copy has been sent to the centre director.
Keep your submission ID for your records. Your centre director will follow up within 1 business day to confirm your child's enrollment.
